Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), aiming to strengthen Mozambique"s institutional capacities and contributes to the National Development Strategy 2015-2035. The project supports Mozambique's commitment to setting ambitious, realistic and science-based Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) for the 2025 NDC Update Report, while promoting long-term climate resilience and a transition to renewable energy sources on a low emissions development pathway. Recent policy dialogues indicate that Mozambique does not yet have a long-term strategy or a net zero target, although in 2021, Mozambique started to formulate its Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy (LT-LEDS).
