orary works propping to support steel arch frame which has one leg erected on the gabions. • Construction of a new foundation for the failed wing wall. • Extension of the soils and installation of mesh to re-build embankment to required height. This will be typical of a reinforced soil embankment with mesh finishing using a ‘bottom-up’ construction sequence • Installation of horizontal drains to allow groundwater to drain from the slope. • Construction of new masonry wing wall. • Extending top of existing walls on site. • Surface finishing. • Reinstatement, pointing and general repair work as required. The works will be completed on the downstream side of the bridge only with no disturbance to the existing conditions on the northern side which is considered in good condition.
