The purpose of these schemes is to assist in the carrying out of works that are reasonably necessary for the purpose of rendering a house more suitable for the accommodation of a person with a disability who is a member of the household. For the purposes of the Schemes, disability is defined by regulation as "an enduring physical sensory, mental health or intellectual impairment. Applications are prioritised on the basis of medical needs.
