metres of contaminated but non-hazardous bed material. This material is located within the confines of the West and East piers of Howth harbour in four main zones known as: * the fishing basin between West and Middle Piers * the channel which provides access from sea * the outer swing mooring area to the north of the inner break water * the inner Marina basin which is adjacent to the public slipway and channel It is proposed that this material is treated and stabilised using a pumped liquid mixing method in a location on the Middle Pier and pumped to a location to the West of the West Pier where it is to be used as the core infill of a new reclaimed multi use land area. In order to minimise delays and to give potential tenderers the best opportunity to tender for the overall project, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine are undertaking a pre-qualification process to assess
