The main objective of this procurement is to replace and upgrade our aging Leica TCS SP8 Multiphoton Confocal Microscope (MPM) system. As Multiphoton Confocal Microscopy (MPM) is an essential tool for many research projects at NV Fault and beyond, upgrading this infrastructure is critical. The core facility, the Center for Advanced Microscopy (CAM), has been providing state-of-the-art optical microscopy techniques for over 20 years. The number of users per year is about 60 and the center has about 4000 user hours per year, 1000 on the MPM. The system at CAM is the only widely accessible, multi-purpose MPM system at NTNU.
