The analysis shall be used for in vitro diagnostic purposes for examining iron deficiency anaemia, suspicion of gastrointestinal bleeding and as a tumour marker when examining bowel cancer. The department is the only unit in OUS to carry out the analysis. The analysis is carried out during the day 5 days a week. Approx. 150 tests are currently carried out per month and the number is increasing. In addition, different projects with variation in the amount of samples can be relevant in the future. Samples are received from outpatients, inpatients in OUS as well as samples
