Malvik Municipal Council decided in 2025 to introduce free user choices for home care and home nursing during April 2026. This competition is for free user choice for home nursing care. The scheme concerns service recipients of district nursing care in Malvik municipality who live in their own home. The scheme does not include service recipients who live in residences where there is permanent staffing. Users of the service who do not wish to use free user choices or who do not make an active choice, are awarded assistance from the municipal service.
