The municipality also currently has a separate LoRaWAN network that is used to collect data from different sensors. The water meters shall communicate with the municipality ́s LoRaWAN network. Horten municipality would like water meters that have a long lifetime, this with a view to both finances and the environment. After eight years the municipality must be able to check/calibrate the water meters so that they can be used for a further four years, or preferably longer - out the battery
