ecember 2027. Within the framework of the programme, there is an activity on marine conservation focusing on area based management like marine protected areas (MPAs) or equivalent. The aim of the activity is to increase capacity in adaptive management of MPAs and a wish to use and build capacity on-site, based on the theory behind the methodology the Open Standards for the Practice of Conservation (short Conservation Standards). Another objective is to support other conservation measures that benefit biodiversity, like LMMAs, CMAs and similar. Effective and inclusive management processes that improve affected communities’ livelihood opportunities, while contributing to conservation are key, as well as addressing gender equality and climate preparedness.
