ing must be designed to accommodate a future extension of up to 50 percent of its original size. This extension must meet all the same requirements as the original building (previously delivered), including compliance with NZEB and ZEB standards, sustainability targets, and design principles. The buildings must comply with a range of legislative and strategic frameworks. These include, but are not limited to, the Irish Building Regulations – Part L (Buildings Other Than Dwellings), the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) (EU/2024/1275), and the IDA Ireland Climate Action Plan.
