which collectively constitutes the Parish of Piercestown. The SEC area is located a few kilometres south of Wexford Town and has a population of2,028 people based on the 2022 census. There are a number of public sector organisations located in the Johnstown Castle Estate but we have excluded them from this study. This SEC is part of the SEAi network across Ireland which is designed to enable a better understanding of how communities use energy and how they can save energy across all sectors. The Network's core purpose is to catalyse and support a national movement of SECs operating in every part of the country. A SEC is a community in which everyone works together to develop a sustainable energy system. To do so, they aim as far as possible to be energy efficient, to use renewable energy where feasible and to develop smart energy solutions. A SEC can include all the different energy use
