Due to the critical nature of its business, which involves the payment of benefits and pensions to a large proportion of the population, the Department requires that systems down‑time including infrastructure that supports systems is to be kept to an absolute minimum. This critical service involves ensuring the uninterrupted operation of critical infrastructure including power distribution, UPS systems, generators, and other electrical equipment.
