igs unit.Descriere: The Ministry of Justice and Emergency Services, c/o the NAWSARH project, has been responsible for procuring new national rescue helicopters. A contract for the delivery of 16 new AW101 helicopters was signed with AgustaWestland (now Leonardo Helicopters) in December 2013 - originally for phasing in the period 2017-2020. The first base (Sola) was commissioned with AW101 SAR Queen on 1 September 2020 and the last base (Florø) on 1 October 2024. The last helicopter was delivered in June 2025. The project was formally completed in summer 2025. The Main Rescue Centre (HRS) c/o NAWSARH Forvaltning is responsible for carrying out outstanding project activities as well as management of the procurement and maintenance contract with Leonardo Helicopters.
