tici ale procedurii: The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) offers DNA-analyses to applicants who have difficulty substantiate their stated kinship. This can apply for applicants of all nationalities, mainly related to cases concerning family welfare services or asylum seekers. The predominantly groups of applicants who are offered DNA analyses are nationals from Afghanistan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Cathrine and Syria. UDI also offers DNA analysis to nationals from all sub-Saharan countries except South Africa. The analyses will mainly be aimed at confirming or disproving a parent/child relationship. In some cases it may also be of interest to confirm or disprove other types of kinship, such as sibling relationships or grandparents/grandchildren.
